Pattachitra style of painting originated from Raghurajpur, a small and artsy village in Odisha. The village houses talented artists who work day and night to create these unique paintings and keep the legacy alive.

In the 1940s, an American lady Ms. Helena Zealy tried to help promote art overseas. She held exhibitions in America and gave the artists a global market to showcase their art.
Government to the Rescue
INTACH did two-year research in the village and later on declared it as a ‘Heritage Village’. They even hired artists to paint houses and a rest house to promote the art.
